9. Pittsburgh Panthers

Season: 2016

Date: Sep. 17, 2016

Result: Oklahoma State 45, Pitt 38

The only out of conference regular season game on this list. The Cowboys’ victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers last season helped get them back on track after what happened against the Central Michigan Chippewas.

Wide receiver James Washington had one of the great individual performances of the 2016 college football season with 296 yards and two touchdowns. Washington kicked off the game with a 98-yard touchdown reception.

Quarterback Mason Rudolph also threw for over 500 yards on his way to one of his best individual performances of the season. Rudolph also threw a pass for more than 70 yards to wide receiver Jhajuan Seales in the final minutes of the game that led to the game winning touchdown for the Pokes.

A rain delay nearly halfway through the game caused quite a few fans to leave Boone Pickens Stadium early and many of those fans did not return. Those that did not return missed quite a finish for a huge out of conference win.
