10. Purdue Boilermakers, Heart of Dallas Bowl

Season: 2012

Date: Jan. 1, 2013

Result: Oklahoma State 58, Purdue 14

The Cowboys rung in the New Year in 2013 with a romping of the Purdue Boilermakers in the Heart of Dallas Bowl. It marked the closeout of what was a crazy season for OK State as well.

Coming off maybe the best football season in school history in 2011, they looked to continue that momentum into 2012. Their Heart of Dallas Bowl victory against the Boilermakers marked the finish to an up and down eight win season where they ended up starting three different quarterbacks.

Then junior quarterback Clint Chelf ended up getting the most starts in 2012 after freshmen J.W. Walsh and Wes Lunt (finished his career with the Illinois Fighting Illini) got hurt. Chelf led the Cowboys to the 44 point victory over the Boilermakers, but Walsh got some playing time as well in garbage time at the end of the game.

Hype followed for the 2013 Cowboy football season after blowing out the Boilermakers. OK State capped off a wild 2012 season with quite the bowl blowout.
