Just when you thought things couldn't get worse for the Oklahoma State football team following the loss to Oregon in Eugene, last Friday night happened. The Cowboys returned home to take on Tulsa, a game they were supposed to dominate coming off a bye.
Instead of Oklahoma State taking care of business, an embarrassing loss was posted and since then Mike Gundy has been getting torched online. Not only that, but rumors continue to fly in that he could be out of a job sooner rather than later.
Oklahoma State fans have 1 Mike Gundy wish after embarrassing loss to Tulsa
That speculation is something that Gundy has of course seen. With that said, he made it more than clear that what's happening outside of the locker room is not a distraction for his players. On top of that, Gundy added that it's not going to stop him from continuing to give his all to try to get the program back to where it needs to be:
Mike Gundy says none of his players have talked with him about his job security and he will keep working hard at his job.

"I will continue to put my heart and soul into this (job)."
Says he doesn't want to address these types of questions again.
Mike Gundy puts his foot down on questions about his job security at Oklahoma State
Gundy also understandably didn't love being asked about this, which is why he told the media that he wasn't going to discuss any questions about his job security moving forward. That's Gundy's right, but if the Cowboys keep losing, there's going to be more pressure on the administration to make a move.
Gundy has been leading his alma mater for more than 20 years, but things have been going south of late. It wasn't long ago that Oklahoma State was pushing for a Big 12 title, but last season the program went 3-9. That was unacceptable.
Oklahoma State has followed that up by going 1-2 thus far this season, with the Tulsa loss being a shocker and the 69-3 result against Oregon on the road being something that still has people in Stillwater quite upset about. It obviously made Dan Lanning pretty happy.
Come Week 5, Gundy and Co. will be hosting Baylor in what already feels like a must-win home game. With a loss, the calls for Gundy to get canned will keep coming in. Don't expect him to be ready to talk about things, however. If a loss indeed is posted, that's the last thing Gundy is going to want to discuss.
