8. Kansas Jayhawks

Results: 87-80 Loss, 90-85 Loss

Opponent Seed in NCAA Tournament: 1

The second team on this list that ended up with a one seed that the Pokes lost to is the Kansas Jayhawks. Head coach Bill Self and the Jayhawks did not come into GIA on March 4 in the Big 12 regular season finale with a whole lot of recent success in Stillwater. Yet, they emerged victorious for the first time there since 2013.

Many OK State fans will remember the road loss the Cowboys had at Allen Fieldhouse earlier in the season where the Jayhawks shot 45 free throws compared to just 14 for the Pokes.

Yet, KU is one of three Big 12 teams in the Midwest Region. Similar to the Clones, if KU and OK State make it all the way to the Elite 8, then they would face each other in that matchup.

The Jayhawks face the winner of the UC Davis/North Carolina Central play-in game for the right to the 16 seed.
