5. Michigan Wolverines

2016-17 Record: 23-11 (10-8 Big 10)

Conference: Big 10

ESPN Projected Seed: 6

Although this is an unlikely matchup, it’s always fun to see your team face a brand name school like the Michigan Wolverines. After having their plane crash before the Big 10 Tournament, the Wolverines put together a great run all the way to the Championship Game.

The Wolverines still have one more game left to play so they could finish the season with 24 wins and a Big 10 Tournament Title. That would likely put them seeded higher than six. However, if UM gets bumped down to a seven seed and the Pokes end up as a 10 seed then this would be a very intriguing matchup.

Two young and up and coming teams facing each other that could be right in the thick of things in the next few college basketball seasons.

Senior guards Derrick Walton Jr. and Zak Irvin also provide an intriguing matchup for Evans and junior forward Jeffrey Carroll.

If this matchup were to happen, it would be one of the most entertaining matchups not only in that region but in the entire NCAA Tournament.
