Oklahoma State Football: Big 12 Schedule released for 2017
We look at the release of the 2017 Big 12 football schedule including the biggest games in conference and out-of-conference for Oklahoma State.
The Oklahoma State Cowboys have an interesting schedule set for the 2017 college football season. It is one of the toughest out of conference schedules they have played in a long time. Road games against the Pittsburgh Panthers and South Alabama Jaguars (a bowl team this year) will be tough. Moreover, they get a home game against in-state rival Tulsa in the opening game on Sept. 2.
Home games will swap from what they were in 2016. The home slate will include the Oklahoma Sooners, TCU Horned Frogs, Baylor Bears, Kansas State Wildcats, and Kansas Jayhawks. Road game will be the Texas Tech Red Raiders, West Virginia Mountaineers, Texas Longhorns, and Iowa State Cyclones. It will be interesting to see if the Pokes can continue their three-game road winning streak against the Longhorns in Austin. New Texas head coach Tom Herman will be standing in the way of the continuation of that winning streak.
The first game that got released for the 2017 Big 12 schedule was the Cowboys meeting with the Cyclones in Ames on Nov. 11.

OK State’s Sept. 30 meeting with the Red Raiders was the next game released.

The biggest change to the Cowboys schedule is Bedlam. With the Big 12 title game being added to the schedule the conference wanted to put some time between the championship and Bedlam. OU will travel to Stillwater to play the Cowboys on Nov. 4. It will be the first time they have played at Boone Pickens Stadium since the 58-23 mauling the Sooners gave the Pokes in 2015.
The conference opener will be played on Sept. 23 against the Frogs.
Another important addition to the 2017 Big 12 schedule is the addition of a conference championship game. The top two teams will face each other in Arlington, TX, on Dec. 2.
