Several former Oklahoma State Cowboys saw action in Week 6 of the NFL season.
The Dallas Cowboys returned from an off week, meaning about half this list did as well. Meanwhile, numerous other former Cowboys made appearances elsewhere in the league, to mixed success, while others sat out with injuries.
Joseph Randle – RB – Dallas Cowboys
Randle had two carries for 24 yards in the Cowboys’ 27-20 loss to the NY Giants, but had to exit the game early after re-aggravating a back injury supposedly suffered during preseason. He remains day-to-day.
Dairyland Express
Dan Bailey – K – Dallas Cowboys
Bailey was his usual efficient self, hitting both his field goal attempts (including one from 48 yards out,) and both extra points. He remains perfect on the year.
Brandon Weeden – QB – Dallas Cowboys
Weeden, who despite being incredibly limited by coaches in his throwing options during his time as a starter, was benched over a week ago for Matt Cassel leading up to the game against the Giants. He had a nice view from the sideline on Sunday as Cassel went on to throw more interceptions in one game than Weeden has all season.
Kevin Williams – DL – New Orleans Saints
Williams totaled two tackles in the Saints’ 27-21 win over Indianapolis on the road. The Saints are now 3-4 after back-to-back wins.
Russell Okung – OT – Seattle Seahawks
Okung started at left tackle during the Seahawks’ 20-3 road win over San Francisco.
Justin Gilbert – CB – Cleveland Browns
Gilbert failed to record a tackle during the Browns’ 24-6 loss on the road to the St. Louis Rams, but did return one kickoff for 21 yards.
Other Cowboys of Note
Dez Bryant continues to heal from a foot injury. Tyler Patmon of Dallas, Brandon Pettigrew of Detroit, and Perrish Cox of Tennessee all sat out this week’s action with injuries. Antonio Smith of Denver was off during the Bronco’s bye week, as was Lane Taylor of Green Bay. Kendall Hunter, who is working his way back from an injury and recently learned that he is ineligible to rejoin the 49ers this season due to a contract mix-up, is working out in Birmingham, AL in hopes of joining a roster this season.
