Oklahoma State Football: Cowboys Move Up In AP Poll After West Virginia Win

The Associated Press released their newest edition of the top 25 poll today, and it shows plenty of movement throughout after another unpredictable week of results.

The Oklahoma State football team moved up five spots to No. 16 after the West Virginia win. Last week, they actually fell a spot after beating Kansas State.

Ohio State remained at No. 1, while Utah moved up a spot into No. 4 after a win over Cal.

Elsewhere in the Big 12, the movement was mixed. Baylor moved up to No. 2 after annihilating Kansas, receiving 13 votes first place votes. TCU traded spots with Baylor, moving down to No. 3 after a close road win against Kansas State. Oklahoma actually took the biggest fall of the week, dropping nine spots to No. 19 after losing to Texas.

Elsewhere in the top 10, teams held their own for the most part. Michigan State deservedly fell three spots to No. 7 after yet another narrow win over a crappy team, this time over Rutgers by a touchdown. Alabama fell two spots to No. 10 after beating Arkansas at home 24-17.

Florida continued their surge up the rankings for a third straight week, moving up three spots to No. 8 after beating Missouri 21-3, setting up a huge matchup against No. 6 LSU on the road this Saturday.

Speaking of former powers regaining their place in the rankings, Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines moved up the most this week, climbing six spots to No. 12 after beating former No. 13 Northwestern 38-0 at home. Speaking of Northwestern, the Wildcats fell seven spots to No. 20.

USC dropped from the poll after being ranked No. 17 following a loss to Washington. The Georgia Bulldogs, formerly No. 19, followed the Trojans out of the rankings after dropping a one point loss to Tennessee.

Duke debuted at No. 25 after a 44-3 trouncing of Army and improving to 5-1, while an undefeated Houston team moved into the poll at No. 24 after taking out SMU. Cal remained at No. 23 after losing to Utah.

Texas Tech received 10 votes, technically placing them at No. 31.
