After a 96-92 Bedlam victory against the Oklahoma Sooners, the Oklahoma State basketball team received more votes in the AP Poll this week.

The Oklahoma State basketball team is currently one of the hottest teams in the Big 12. They cannot seem to lose even when their chances have looked bleak nearing the end of games. The Cowboys have won eight of the last nine games and three in a row currently.

Associated Press released this week’s edition of the top 25 rankings with the Gonzaga Bulldogs, Villanova Wildcats, and the Big 12′ own Kansas Jayhawks rounding out the top three. The no. 9 Baylor Bears and the no. 12 West Virginia Mountaineers were the other Big 12 teams inside the top 25 this week. Meanwhile, the Iowa State Cyclones received 22 votes which put them at no. 28 in the rankings.

OK State received seven votes this week, sandwiching themselves between the Minnesota Golden Gophers and Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders. Those seven votes put the Pokes at no. 33 this week, which should also keep them firmly in a spot for a bid for the NCAA Tournament come Selection Sunday.

Head coach Brad Underwood has made a remarkable turnaround not just of late but for the entire men’s basketball program in general. He took a basketball team that started 0-6 in conference play and now has them owning a record of 18-9 (7-7 Big 12) in maybe the toughest league top to bottom in college basketball.

The Pokes have four games remaining on their regular season schedule, two of which come at home in Gallagher-Iba Arena. They face a tough opponent in the Kansas State Wildcats on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 8 p.m. CT. However, all eyes will be on Stillwater on March 4 as the Cowboys take on KU at GIA for the final matchup of the regular season for both teams.

The Jayhawks have not defeated the Cowboys in Stillwater since 2012. It has been an extremely tough place to play for KU head coach Bill Self. This season should be no different.
