The Oklahoma State football team starts Spring Practice on March 6 with much speculation and hype around Mike Gundy’s program right now.

The Oklahoma State football program is already just weeks away from the start of Spring Practice. It actually does feel like just last week we were watching the Cowboys dominate the Colorado Buffaloes in the Alamo Bowl. However, it’s getting time to focus our attention to the 2017 college football season and preview what’s ahead.

National Signing Day just wrapped up and there are a few commits that enrolled early and OK State fans will get to see in Spring Practice and the Spring Game, like pro-style quarterback Jelani Woods.

The quarterback situation for the Pokes is one to watch because there is some uncertainty behind rising senior Mason Rudolph. A few of the best options include Taylor Cornelius, John Kolar, and Keondre Wudtee. Yet, the 2017 Spring Game will be the first great look at the future of OK State’s QB situation behind Rudolph.

Head coach Mike Gundy and the Cowboys kick off Spring Practice on March 6. This really is an exciting time for OK State athletics with all that is going on right now. Head basketball coach Brad Underwood just led the men’s basketball program to a sweep of the Oklahoma Sooners for the first time since 2004. And head baseball coach Josh Holliday kicked of the 2017 baseball campaign for the Pokes last weekend, while also notching their first victory of the season last night.

One of the biggest things that can help hold over college football fans for the following season is the Spring Game. The annual Spring Game is set for Saturday, April 15, at 1 p.m. CT. Fans can once again see football played in Boone Pickens Stadium before the start of the 2017 regular season come Fall.

A few other storylines to watch with Spring Practice starting soon are how the Pokes are doing on the 2018 recruiting trail, all the new assistant coaching hires, and the development of the defense with many key pieces gone.

It might not be a replacement for actual college football, but Spring Football is one of the best times for a fan during the offseason.
