A look around the world of noteworthy Oklahoma State Cowboys news and notes, as well as other relevant stories from the Big 12 and sports world in general.

By now most people have had a chance to calm down and process what happened in Austin on Saturday. That doesn’t mean that it didn’t provide plenty of reading material and meltdowns from both Texas and Oklahoma State fans in the meantime.

Stillwater and Beyond

♦ The Cowboys defense is now 6th nationally in tackles for loss and 4th in sacks. Not bad.

♦ Pistols Firing takes a closer look at Chris Carson’s injury.

♦ Cowboy radio play-by-play man Dave Hunziker is the best:

♦ Berry Tramel accurately details why Brandon Weeden is not to blame for the Dallas Cowboys’ loss yesterday.

♦ The ESPN announcing crew had some rough moments on Saturday.

♦ Yeah, you’ve probably seen this already, but here it is again. The best part is probably Gundy’s arms raised in victory when he’s finished. If only everyone did that after dancing.

♦ Now this is interesting, and mostly incredibly annoying. A writer over at a Texas fanblog decided to author a lovely piece after the game on Saturday, casually alleging everything from the possibility of racism to gambling to somehow punishing Texas for being Texas when it came to the iffy calls during the game:

"Right now, I’m simply interested in determining what kind of human garbage we’re dealing with: pro Cowboy or anti-Texas game riggers, corrupt gamblers, straight up racists who want to undercut a predominantly black coaching staff at the state Flagship or simply petty small men who decided early on they were going to “get” Texas for some unknown slight.  I truly don’t know.  I’ve just never seen anything so blatantly purposeful in a football game."

Man. Honestly, a meltdown after a game like that is certainly understandable, but those comments take it a bit too far.

Not surprisingly, the article has become some sort of rallying cry for pissed off Texas fans, and has over 20,000 Facebook shares at this point.

Elsewhere and Otherwise

♦ ESPN’s Brandon Chatmon takes a detailed look at the crazy end to the TCU at Texas Tech game, and that ridiculous catch that ended it.

♦ Doug Carey over at Saturday Blitz thinks that ESPN College Gameday should get rid of a certain segment.

♦ God bless the Syracuse punter:

♦ The passing of Yogi Berra last week resulted in plenty of stories being shared about the Hall of Fame catcher, and none of them are more heart-warming this the one about Berra and his relationship with former Yankees teammate Phil Rizzuto during Ruzzuto’s last part of his life while living in an assisted living center.
