4 greatest Oklahoma State hidden gems from NFL Drafts since 2000
By Sam Fariss
Ignoring the suspensions tied to Ryan McBean’s career, the former Cowboy was a standout player in the NFL for three seasons.
After being drafted by the Steelers in 2007, Pittsburgh cut McBean before he eventually made his way to the Denver Broncos’ practice squad.
The Broncos called him up to the 53-man roster to play defensive end and he made an immediate impact.
From 2009-12, McBean had 77 total tackles and four sacks. The former Oklahoma State star also had a one-yard fumble recovery during the 2010-11 season.
Had McBean not been suspended due to a failed drug test, aka if he hadn’t failed his drug test, his career could have continued to grow and I think he would have truly excelled in the NFL.
