Oklahoma State football head coach Mike Gundy just signed what might have been his best recruiting class during his 17 years in charge in Stillwater.

Here are some of the best seven numbers to know from this year’s early National Signing Day for the Class of 2022 recruits:

No. 25

Oklahoma State was ranked at the No. 25 spot in team ranking by 247Sports, the highest ranking that the Cowboys have received since the class of 2011. It’s become a common theme this year in Stillwater — Gundy and OSU just achieved the most team wins (11) since that 2011 season, when the Cowboys won the Big 12 title.

If Gundy is able to achieve 10+ win seasons with recruiting classes typically ranked in the 30s and 40s, what is he capable of with the talent in this year’s class?

Eight

Eight Oklahoma-based players are among OSU’s early signees, matching last year’s Class of 2021 incoming players. Eight Oklahomans from each of the past two years is the most to sign with the Cowboys since 2009.

In his remarks about the recruiting class, Gundy spoke about the importance of trying to get as many local players on the roster as possible. With this year’s recruiting class, it appears as if he’s done a good job with that.

And it’s not just any random local guys: included in the past three seasons have been the Oklahoma Gatorade Players of the Year: Bixby’s Brennan Presley in 2019, Beggs’ Kendal Daniels in 2020, and Bixby’s Braylin Presley from this fall.
