2013: No. 11 OSU 49, No. 3 Baylor 17

ESPN College GameDay came to town as Baylor rolled into a Stillwater in late November 2013 with a 13-game winning streak and the nation’s No. 3 ranking, right in the thick of the national title conversation with fellow unbeaten Alabama, Ohio State, and Florida State. After running into the high-powered OSU offense and quarterback Clint Chelf, however, the Bears left still seeking their first road win against the Cowboys since 1939.

OSU moved to 10-1 (7-1) with the lopsided 49-17 win after having gained 594 yards of total offense. Chelf, the Enid product, delivered the huge victory behind 19-of-25 passing, 370 yards, and three touchdowns. The Cowboys stormed to a 35-3 lead in the third quarter and cruised the rest of the way for the team’s 10th win of the season.

The reason this win doesn’t rank higher in the list is that OSU would go on to lose its next two games, a 33-24 loss to OU followed by a 41-31 Cotton Bowl loss to Missouri.

2016: No. 13 OSU 38, No. 11 Colorado 8

This was seemingly the end of a golden era of college football: not only did your stars routinely return to campus for another season, but they even played in the season-ending bowl game, to boot. Mason Rudolph and James Washington both announced that they would resist NFL overtures to remain in Stillwater for another season, and the duo led the Cowboys to a 38-8 win in the Alamo Bowl against Colorado.

Rudolph led OSU with 314 passing yards and three touchdowns. The Cowboys’ win gave the program a 10-3 finish in what would become its second of three consecutive 10-win seasons. OSU also beat Colorado, a former Big 8 and Big 12 rival who had recently departed to the Pac-12, for the fourth time in the teams’ last five meetings. Before that, the Buffaloes had beaten the Cowboys 10 out of 11 times between 1989 and 2001.
