Teven Jenkins. player. 55. Oklahoma State. Pick Analysis. OL. 24. Scouting Report

It shouldn’t be a surprise to see the Steelers select OSU standout offensive tackle Teven Jenkins with their first pick of the 2021 NFL Draft. Pittsburgh should prioritize protecting aging quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who noticeably struggled as the 2020 season progressed.

Some NFL Draft analysts predict that Jenkins could go even higher than No. 24, given his athleticism and his proven versatility shown from his OSU career.

As noted by Pokes Post earlier this month, Jenkins going this soon in the draft would result in OSU’s highest selection in seven years. In 2014, the Browns selected Cowboy defensive back Justin Gilbert at No. 8 overall. Jenkins would also be the first OSU offensive lineman to be drafted in 11 years since the Seahawks selected Russell Okung with the No. 6 overall pick.

Other possible landing spots for Jenkins in the first round include the Raiders (who need to replace outgoing offensive tackle Trent Brown) at No. 17 and the Jaguars at No. 25 overall. A common theme: hey, investing in protecting your franchise’s most valuable asset doesn’t come cheap.
