6. Josh Green

Height: 6’2″

Weight: 190 Pounds

Year: Redshirt Freshman

By far the most unknown quarterback on the Cowboy Spring roster, redshirt freshman Josh Green joined OK State as a preferred walk-on in 2016. Green hails from Boerne, TX and Champion High School.

Green’s Hudl film and high school highlights show a guy with a very accurate arm but lacks consistent arm strength. However, if Gundy felt he was confident enough to hold Green on the roster for the second consecutive year, he must be doing something right.

If Green was to end up with a big role with the Cowboy football team, it would not be the first time a quarterback came out of nowhere to start for OK State. Daxx Garman started for the Cowboys through a large portion of the 2014 regular season. However, injuries and a rough stretch of schedule hampered Garman’s chances to do anything good with OK State in 2014.

It will be interesting to see if Green ends up getting any work with the Cowboys in the 2017 Spring Game, or gets a large amount of work in Spring Practice anytime soon.
