The Oklahoma State baseball team takes on the Nebraska Cornhuskers tonight in their first game in the Frisco College Baseball Classic.

The Oklahoma State baseball team kicks off an exciting portion of their early season schedule tonight against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, as part of the Frisco College Baseball Classic. First pitch is at 7:30 p.m. CT in Frisco, TX. The entire series involves three games where the Cowboys also face the Arizona Wildcats tomorrow and the Arkansas Razorbacks on Sunday.

OK State put together an up and down start to the college baseball season with a 4-4 record heading into the weekend. Things looked like they were on the upward swing when the Pokes defeated a then ranked top 25 team in the Arizona State Sun Devils and then defeated the Texas State Bobcats in their first home series of the season.

However, a 10-7 defeat to the Saint Louis Billikens highlighted some of the expected shortcomings for the Pokes this season.

On the mound for OK State this weekend is the top three pitchers in the rotation including Tyler Buffett, Jensen Elliott, and Carson Teel, who all had at least one rocky appearance so far this season.

Each one of the matchups this weekend are really interesting for different reasons. The Cowboys get to face an old Big 12 foe in Nebraska tonight. They get to face the team that knocked them out of the College World Series last year in Arizona. And they also get to face a geographic rival in Arkansas.

It’s a big weekend for the Cowboys to get back on track. All three games can be seen on Watch ESPN/ESPN3.

Starting with a win tonight, maybe the Cowboys can loosen up enough to take at least two of the three games in Frisco this weekend. It would be especially nice to be the Wildcats, the team that defeated OK State twice in Omaha last year.
