4. TCU Horned Frogs

Season: 2015

Date: Nov. 7, 2015

Result: Oklahoma State 49, TCU 29

OK State and TCU met near the halfway point of the 2015 season with both teams unbeaten. This one was expected to be a hard fought battle between Rudolph and TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin, who was a Heisman favorite at the time.

Rudolph finished the game with more than 300 passing yards and five touchdowns while Boykin finished the game with three total touchdowns and four interceptions.

OK State perfectly modeled the “bend but not break” mentality on defense, as they seemed to force a turnover whenever the Frogs had anything good going on offense.

Washington finished the game with 184 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Marcell Ateman also caught an 82 yard bomb for the longest touchdown of the game.

This victory over the Frogs sparked some heavy College Football Playoff speculation for the Pokes. However, losses at the end of the season to OU, Baylor, and Ole Miss exposed the Cowboys inconsistencies and inexperience.

For the time being, this was an incredibly fun victory to be a part of as a Cowboy football fan.
