5. West Virginia Mountaineers

Season: 2016

Date: Oct. 29, 2016

Result: Oklahoma State 37, West Virginia 20

WVU came into OK State’s Homecoming game ranked no. 10 and undefeated, looking to defeat the Cowboys in BPS on Homecoming for the second time in a row. The Mountaineers defeated OK State in the 2014 Homecoming game.

Yet, OK State got the best of the Mountaineers this time around. The Cowboys ruined WVU’s undefeated season, causing the Moutaineers to finish the season 4-3 in their last seven games after starting 6-0.

Rudolph threw for 273 yards and three touchdowns while adding another touchdown on the ground. Moreover, Washington and Jalen McCleskey combined for more than 180 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer had the Mountaineer offense figured out as the Cowboys caused two interception out of quarterback Skyler Howard.

The Homecoming game started a great run for the Pokes to finish the 2016 season with 10 wins.
