2. Colorado Buffaloes, 2016 Alamo Bowl

Season: 2016

Date: Dec. 30, 2016

Result: Oklahoma State 38, Colorado 8

The no. 2 ranked victory on this list is also the most recent victory for the Cowboy football program. They defeated the no. 10 ranked Colorado Buffaloes in dominating fashion. It was a tremendous night for Cowboy football fans everywhere.

It was hard to tell how the Buffs would look coming into the Alamo Bowl because of a blowout loss to the Washington Huskies in the PAC-12 Championship. However, the Cowboys were in a similar boat because of their Bedlam loss against OU.

Rudolph ended up throwing for more than 300 yards and three touchdowns, while freshman running back Justice Hill ran for 100 yards and one touchdown. Washington ended up leaving the game with a finger injury but he had a solid game as well.

This Alamo Bowl victory helped start the hype train for the Pokes heading into 2017. Bleacher Report even ranked the Cowboys as the no. 5 team in the country in their pre-Spring Game rankings.
