The Oklahoma State baseball team fell to 4-4 on the season today with their home loss at Allie P. to the Saint Louis Billikens 10-7.

The Oklahoma State baseball team took part in a one game series with the Saint Louis Billikens today at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium in Stillwater. They had a great chance to gain some momentum heading into the Frisco College Baseball Classic this week in Frisco, TX. However, things did not go according to plan for the Cowboys today.

OK State just won their first series of the season against the Texas State Bobcats, thanks to a few offensive explosions. The Cowboys got just that at the beginning of today’s game, scoring four runs in the first two innings. Yet, those four runs were scored on just one hit.

After the fourth inning, the Billikens outscored the Cowboys 10-3, on their way to a 10-7 victory. Overall, the Billikens out hit the Pokes 18-9. Each team had one error on the day.

Third baseman Garrett Benge continued his hot streak with the bat with two hits, two runs batted in, and two walks.

Left fielder Garrett McCain was the only other Cowboy to have more than one hit. He finished the game with three runs.

The pitching rotation struggled once again, which is a worrying sign considering they allowed double digit runs in yet another game. It is the second time in the last three games that has happened.

OK State took advantage of some poor SLU errors early, but lost control of the game in the later innings.

Matt Wilson took the loss for the Cowboys and Aaron Patton claimed the win for the Billikens.

Up next for the Pokes is a trip to Frisco this weekend. They face the Arkansas Razorbacks, Arizona Wildcats, and Nebraska Cornhuskers, in their first big tournament/classic of the season. The Pokes enter the Frisco College Baseball Classic with a 4-4 record.

The top three pitchers in the rotation are expected to pitch this weekend which are Tyler Buffett, Jensen Elliott, and Carson Teel.
