3. Texas Longhorns

Location: Austin, TX

All-Time Football Record: 7-24

Even though the Texas Longhorns dominated the all-time football series against OK State, the Cowboys have been the victors of late. OK State won two in a row and five of the last seven meetings in this series. And much like beating in KU in basketball, there’s something special about beating UT in football. It doesn’t matter if they’re in down times like they are right now in Austin.

UT might be the most hated athletic program across the board in the Big 12. They own the Longhorn Network, keeping the Big 12 from establishing a TV network across the entire conference to help give the conference some good PR. However, that seems to fit the bill for the Horns and their fan base.

Hard times have also fallen on the UT basketball program as well. The hiring of head coach Shaka Smart to replace Rick Barnes might be a slow process to bring the Horns back to glory on the court.

Similar to the basketball program, the football program hired a new head coach to bring the Horns back to glory on the gridiron. Former Houston Cougars head coach Tom Herman takes over for Charlie Strong after another losing season in Austin.
