7. TCU Horned Frogs

Location: Fort Worth, TX

All-Time Football Record: 15-10-2

One of the more recent additions to the Big 12, the TCU Horned Frogs provide a good geographic rival for the Cowboys. Moreover, the recent success of TCU’s football program under head coach Gary Patterson provided quite a bit of hype for recent matchups between the Cowboys and Frogs.

OK State posted wins over the Frogs in football in three of the last four seasons. The last three meetings between these teams in football were always by at least a 20 point margin. The competitiveness between the Frogs and Cowboys in football has not surfaced when it comes to game time. However, the hype seems to be there every season.

Really the only sport that has not been competitive between these schools in the last five years in basketball. Only once in the last five years have the Frogs really taken care of the Cowboys in basketball. The rest has been controlled by the Pokes.

TCU does boast one of the best baseball programs in the entire country. The Frogs were one of three Big 12 teams in the College World Series last season. They’re also preseason no. 1 in baseball in 2017.

The combination of geographic relevance and football hype puts the Frogs at no. 7 on this list.
