Ranking Oklahoma State’s Conference rivals in the Big 12

1. Oklahoma Sooners

Location: Norman, OK

All-Time Football Record: 18-86-7

Isn’t it the most obvious team placed on this list. The Oklahoma Sooners are by far the biggest conference rival for OK State. Just look at that all-time record in the football series for Bedlam. The ‘little brother” label bothers some Cowboy fans an incredible amount to the point where losing Bedlam hurts more than a losing season in football.

The first season sweep of the Sooners in basketball since 2004 made losing to them in football a little bit better, but not a whole lot. It’s only a matter of time before OU head coach Lon Kruger has the Sooner basketball program competitive once again. Yet, head coach Brad Underwood seems to be headed in a great direction with the Cowboy basketball program.

Bedlam will no longer be played on the last weekend on the season in football with the addition of the Big 12 Championship Game. However, that means that the Sooners and Cowboys could play each other twice in the same season in football which would be actual Bedlam in the Big 12. It’s hard to imagine the joy of defeating the Sooners twice in the same season or the pain if it were to happen the other way around.
