4. Jelani Woods

Position: Quarterback

Year: Freshman

Three-star pro-style quarterback Jelani Woods is one of five early enrollees in the 2017 recruiting class. Woods is also one of two early enrollees on this list. He is a 6’7″ QB from Georgia with a very strong arm.

Adding Woods to the mix of potential starting quarterbacks in the post-Rudolph era makes the situation that much more interesting. He is somewhat similar to redshirt freshman Keondre Wudtee in the style of quarterback he plays. Both are very intriguing options for the Cowboy offensive scheme.

There is no question that Woods has the arm strength and size to thrive in the OK State offense. The biggest question remains is he better than the rest of the competition. Good news for him is that he has more time than about any other quarterback on the Cowboy roster for 2017. Kolar, Wudtee, and Cornelius are all older than Woods.

Fans should hope to see Woods have a solid showing in Spring Practice as well as the Spring Game.
