6. Dillon Stoner
Position: Wide Receiver
Year: Redshirt Freshman
Second year wide receiver Dillon Stoner started off the 2016 well with OK State. He got some work in games against the Baylor Bears, Central Michigan Chippewas, and the Southeastern Louisiana Lions last season. However, he suffered a dislocated ankle that knocked him out for the season after the Baylor game.
Stoner ended up taking a medical redshirt after missing the rest of the 2016 season due to an ankle injury. That just adds another potential weapon in the receiving corps to Rudolph’s arsenal.
Originally signing as a three-star recruit from Jenks High School, Stoner looked to play a key role in the Cowboy offense as a freshman and could do much of the same in 2017. However, there is no denying how crowded the depth chart is for the Pokes at receiver. Everyone really outside of Washington will have to prove themselves to earn playing time and get looks from Rudolph this season.
Stoner could replace former wide receiver Austin Hays who graduated after the 2016 campaign. He fits many of the same skill sets that Hays did, but Stoner does have more upside.
