It’s hard not to address how bad the Sooners record is right now. They are 9-17, just one season after making an appearance in the Final Four. However, they are also one of the youngest teams in college basketball and OU head coach Lon Kruger is still rebuilding fairly quickly. The Sooners are sure to be a threat in the Big 12 next season.

However, the Cowboys got an almost immediate turnaround with Underwood at the helm. OK State has eight freshman on the roster right now and more talent at guard coming in with commits like Amauri Hardy. Things should only get better in Stillwater for the OK State basketball program.

For the Sooners, McGusty and Odomes are just two of the young players on OU’s roster that give fans in Norman something to be hopeful about. Moreover, the Sooners just landed a commit from the top player in Oklahoma and one of the best players in the country in point guard Trae Young.
