3. Knowing that very few teams have a better player than Jawun Evans

After the 71-68 road victory over the TCU Horned Frogs, I wrote that the Cowboys attack comes and goes as sophomore point guard Jawun Evans does. That proved even more true last night as he spearheaded another OK State comeback.

Evans finished with 27 points, nine assists, four rebounds, and four steals. There was a point in time where Evans scored 15 points in a row down the stretch to seal the game. No way would OK State have won this game without Evans leading the offense. Yet, somehow it feels like Evans still has some room to improve, which is a very scary thought.

Having a player like Evans gives you the confidence that you can beat anyone when it comes time for the Big 12 Tournament and the NCAA Tournament.

According to ESPN, Evans is one of the players in college basketball who has the ability to win a championship all by himself. ESPN also compared him to possibly having a Kemba Walker-like campaign if OK State makes it far in the NCAA Tournament. That is high praise for any point guard on any team.
