Former Oklahoma State football players Ashton Lampkin, Vincent Taylor, and Chris Carson received invites to the 2017 NFL Combine today.

The Oklahoma State football program sends three of its former players including defensive tackle Vincent Taylor, cornerback Ashton Lampkin, and running back Chris Carson to the NFL Combine. All three players were invited to the 2017 NFL Combine part of 330 total players invited to prove themselves for the 2017 NFL Draft.

Tight end Blake Jarwin and offensive lineman Victor Salako are two former Cowboys that did not get an invite to the Combine but look to land with an NFL team before the 2017 season.

The 2017 NFL Combine is scheduled to take place at Lucas Oil Stadium, the home of the Indianapolis Colts, from Feb. 28 to March 6.

Carson was the second leading rusher for the Pokes behind Freshman All-American Justice Hill, who rushed for more than 1,000 yards last season. Moreover, Carson led the Pokes in rushing touchdowns last season with nine. He also added another 559 yards rushing.

Lampkin did most of his work behind the scenes last season. Other players like cornerback Ramon Richards and safety Jordan Sterns commanded most of the attention. Yet, Lampkin was consistently the best cover corner the Cowboys had available. He also turned in a very impressive performance in the East/West Shrine Game in Jan. Lampkin is also the player most likely to get drafted in the actual seven rounds of the 2017 NFL Draft of any former OK State player.

Taylor was one of the best defensive lineman in the Big 12 last season. He garnered All Big 12 First-Team honors last season. Taylor led the Cowboys in tackles for loss with 13.0 and sacks with 7.5. More impressively, he did all that from the defensive tackle spot. At 6’3″ 210 pounds, Taylor has a great shot to make it in the NFL with solid size and mobility. He also provided tremendous value on special teams blocking multiple field goals.
