Texas at Ole Miss

The Match Up: We’ve actually seen this match up twice. In 2012 Texas blasted Ole Miss in Oxford 66-31 then in 2013 Ole Miss helped send Mack Brown into retirement with a 44-23 win in Austin.

How about a rubber match? The Ole Miss program is experiencing an upswing while Texas is still finding their footing under first-year coach Charlie Strong. In 2014 both programs have show moments of brilliance and moments of ineptitude. These are, however, two good defenses. Texas needs an answer at quarterback or at the very least Tyrone Swoopes must improve. The slight edge goes to Ole Miss. Score: Ole Miss 21 Texas 16

Likely or Not: Since Texas and Ole Miss have already done the home-and-home thing a rubber match is not likely. It would be interesting to see if the Longhorns under Strong could deliver Texas a quality road win. It’s been awhile.
