The Match Up: It did not go so well for the Jayhawks in their match up with Kentucky in hoops, so let’s give the football team a try. The Jayhawks showed some improvement toward the latter part of the season. They nearly knocked off No. 3 TCU and gave Oklahoma State all they could handle.

According to sources, David Beaty, the receivers coach and recruiting coordinator at Texas A&M will be named Head Coach at Kansas. Beaty knows the Dallas-Fort Worth area well and can upgrade recruiting.

Kentucky jumped out to a 5-1 start then lost six straight to close the season. Kentucky is probably a bit ahead of the Jayhawks at this point but Beaty, with his Texas ties, will bring the Jayhawks talent level up to par going forward. Score: Kentucky 31 Kansas 17 

Likely or Not: This would be a great SEC and Big 12 marriage. With a lot of the same challenges, these Athletic Directors should make this game happen. Better play it early though. These schools, student bodies and fan bases tend to lose interest by late October.
