100% Orange Juice: OSU vs. FSU Game Notes, Cowgirl Soccer Loss at Arkansas
By Zach Collums
Good Morning and Welcome back to 100% OJ, your morning stop for Oklahoma State athletics
Whether you are rushing out the door or sitting down with your phone or computer, everyone needs a good glass of orange juice in the morning. So sit down, relax and enjoy!
The countdown for college football is now counted in days, not weeks, and I’m personally carrying around several pairs of underwear, just in case I get too excited.
With the countdown to college football closing in on it’s opening weekend, the game that has held the most anticipation and dread for fans of the Oklahoma State Cowboys is upon us. Florida State, accompanied by defending Heisman-winner Jameis Winston, will meet the cowboys on Aug. 30 at the Dallas Cowboys stadium in Arlington, Texas. Oh what a game this will be.
No one really know what will happen, all those most people on both sides have a good idea how they think this game will turn out. To make sure you know how the Cowboys will fare in this game, Oklahoma State Athletics has the game notes for this weekend’s game.
"Oklahoma State has more than held its own against elite competition since 2008 under coach Mike Gundy. During that time, the Cowboys have toppled four teams ranked in the top 10 of the Associated Press poll, with three of those wins coming over teams ranked in the top five."
Getting too overconfident for this game is a dangerous thing, but Gundy knows how to coach a team. We have the talent. We have the technology. We can rebuild the team. Better. Faster. Stronger. ( Yes, I know most of you my age, 22, will not get this reference whatsoever.)
OSU’s womens soccer team played Arkansas this past Sunday, falling 0-2 to Arkansas for a 0-2 record for the season so far.
The game for the Cowgirls was a tough one. On paper, OSU was dominant team on the field, but a few mistakes were what did the Cowgirls in. For more on the loss and what happened during the game, Oklahoma State Athletics has the press release.
"“Statistically, we were the better team, but it doesn’t matter – on the score sheet, you have to win. We’ll regroup. We’re proud of the effort, proud of a lot the play. Disappointed in the loss, but we lost to a good team and we’ll regroup and be ready for next weekend.”"
If we know the Cowgirls and how dominant they can be, coach Colin Carmichael and his team will bounce back quickly.
