100% Orange Juice: Cowgirl Softball, OSU QB’s
By Zach Collums
Good Morning and Welcome back to 100% OJ, your morning stop for all Oklahoma State athletic news!
Whether you are rushing out the door or sitting down with your phone or computer, everyone needs a good glass of orange juice in the morning. So sit down, relax and enjoy!
The Cowgirl softball season doesn’t start until the spring, but yesterday the fall exhibition schedule was announced. The Cowgirls will stay in Stillwater for the whole schedule except against the Tulsa Hurricanes on Oct. 11. For more on the Cowgirls softball team and their fall schedule, head over here for all you need to know.
Quarterbacks have the been the talk of the town here in Stillwater, with no one knowing who will become the starter. Gundy has continued to play coy with the media and fans on who will actually step on the field first for the Cowboys behind center. However, we have gotten some look into how the QBs performed during OSU’s fall camp.
For the full story, head on over to the Ada news website where AP writer Cliff Brunt has the full story.
"“The quarterbacks played the best they’ve played in a scrimmage probably in a number of years here,” Gundy said."
Well, I’m really not sure how to think about that. It is a fall camp and scrimmage, but Brandon Weeden was here a few years ago and that could mean they are playing better than him. But again, it is fall camp so it doesn’t mean much, especially with a defense missing several key pieces from last year.
"Yurcich said Garman, who has not played at Oklahoma State since transferring from Arizona before the 2012 season, has made his mark throughout camp.“He’s had a lot of practice reps,” Yurcich said. “He continues to impress us with his ability to throw the ball down the field. Daxx can really spin the ball. It’s really pretty to watch him throw it."
I had never thought Daxx Garman had a chance to become the starter at Oklahoma State, much less take a snap. Now that the depth chart has opened up and the Cowboys coaches continue to praise him, I think it is more and more possible we might see significant snaps and even a start if JW does not perform as expected this year.

– If you haven’t yet done the Ice bucket challenge or seen any of them, make sure to look them up on youtube. They are raising money and awareness towards ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Here is the website to find out more about how you can help: http://www.alsa.org/
– On a more ridiculous note, if you ever wanted to watch a minute long loop of Johnny “Money” Manziel flipping people off, then here is your wish.
