The Oklahoma State basketball team can earn their 20th win of the 2016-17 season at 1 p.m. CT tomorrow against the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

The Oklahoma State basketball team could very possibly be the hottest team in the country right now. As 3.5 point underdogs in Manhattan, KS, the Cowboys defeated the Kansas State Wildcats by a double digit margin. Head coach Brad Underwood got his first win against his alma mater with the Cowboys in the 80-68 victory earlier this week.

Star sophomore point guard Jawun Evans led the Cowboys to another huge win. Evans and freshman point guard Brandon Averette scored 34 points combined. Moreover, Evans added another 21 points, nine assists, four rebounds, and one steal against KSU. Averette keeps getting better as the season goes along as well.

OK State can notch their 20th victory of the season tomorrow at 1 p.m. CT against the Texas Tech Red Raiders. There are only two more games, including the matchup with TTU tomorrow, at Gallagher-Iba Arena this season. It is the last matchup for OK State before they take on the no. 3 Kansas Jayhawks on March 4.

The Cowboys enter tomorrow’s matchup with a 19-9 (8-7 Big 12) record. They’re currently fifth in the Big 12 standings, sandwiched between KSU and the Iowa State Cyclones. It’s likely that the Pokes will stay in that fifth spot because they would need ISU to lose at least two of their final four conference games and OK State would need to win all of their regular season games the rest of the way.

TTU enters the contest with a 17-11 (5-10 Big 12) record. The Red Raiders are on the outside looking in for the NCAA Tournament right now and need a big finish to the season to get a bid. Furthermore, ISU defeated TTU 82-80 on Feb. 20 in Lubbock.

OK State dominated the first meeting between these two teams when they met in Lubbock on Jan. 21. The Cowboys won 83-64 behind 25 points and nine rebounds from junior forward Jeffrey Carroll.

Underwood has the opportunity to lead the Cowboys to their first 20 win season since 2013-14 when OK State won 21 games. The immediate turnaround with Underwood has been tremendous and more than any Cowboy fan could have hoped for.
