The Oklahoma State baseball team lost two of their first three contest against Grand Canyon but has a chance to rebound against Arizona State today.

The Oklahoma State baseball team got off to a rough start this season by dropping two of their first three games against Grand Canyon University. The worst part is that the Pokes had the strongest part of their roster, their top three starting pitchers, going against the Lopes. However, it’s time to turn attention to the final game of the Cowboys opening road stand.

The no. 25 Arizona State Sun Devils are coming off a series sweep to start the season against the Northwestern Wildcats. First pitch is at 2 p.m. CT in Tempe, AZ.

OK State needs a better effort from their offense today since they only scored one run combined in both their losses to GCU. It won’t be easy since ASU has one of the better pitching staffs in the country.

Right-hander Jonathan Heasley takes the mound today against ASU. Heasley had a rough first outing as he enters today’s game with a 27.00 earned run average.

Players like Ryan Sluder, Dustin Williams, Garrett Benge, and Jon Littell need to step up and spark the Cowboy offense since it seems like the pitching staff is not as effective as it was last year on the Pokes’ College World Series run. Yet, Benge and second baseman Andrew Rosa got out to a hot start in the first three games.

Benge is hitting .308 with one run batted in while Rosa is hitting .500 with two RBI. But the Cowboys are hitting just .204 as a team which will not cut it with a team ERA of 4.32.
