Everyone needs a little pick me up when you’re about to head off to work, so go click on some awesomeness before you read our news.
Now that you are awake, let’s get to the NEWS!!!!!
Oklahoma State made it through what some have called a “hatchet-job” (Not my words) last season when SI reported a multi-faceted scandal had been occurring at Oklahoma State since the days of Les Miles. The Cowboys were exonerated for the most part and came through unscathed. However, several off-season incidents have led to the Cowboys’ reputation being put into question once again.
OSU football is not the renegade program that Sports Illustrated tried to portray. But these offseason scandals are a sign that the Cowboys could get to such status quickly if coaches are not more careful on who they bring in.
Unfortunately, the academics is the part of this story that worries me the most. For Gundy’s reputation and the future of the program. NCAA doesn’t mess around with grades.
OSU Baseball got as far as hosting a Super Regional this season, eventually losing to a good UC Irvine team. Now, everyone gets right back on the diamond and back to work.
“Our players who are playing in summer leagues live with host families, train and play 7 days a week, and many are enrolled in online summer classes,” Player Development Coordinator Steve Sabins said. “The yearly schedule of our kids shows their extreme discipline and commitment to not only each other, but Oklahoma State.”
This was a heartbreaking loss for a team that had so much momentum. Josh Holliday’s has done some great work with this baseball team and I would fully expect them to be in the same position next season.
